Not having much luck on dating apps? Love guru Jana Hocking has shared her top tips for getting more attention on platforms like Tinder or Hinge.
The trick is to show your personality and include statements that invite interaction.
For example, asking daters what they’re reading, watching on TV or listening to can help to spark conversation.
It also tells you more about people who you’re chatting to virtually.
On the Kinda Sorta Dating podcast, Jana revealed she’s also asked singletons to compete with her on an Australian reality TV show called The Block.
Plenty of men have offered to accompany her on the show – and it’s proven to be a great way to spark a connection.
Jana said: “One of the answers to my Hinge profile is, the question was, ‘What am I looking for’ and my answer was: someone to compete on The Block with me.
“Do you know how many responses I get to that? I get all like builders or designers, (saying), yes I want to go on The Block too, let’s enter.
“Another successful question and answer I had on Hinge that gets a lot of responses off guys the question was, I am currently obsessed with.
“And I wrote back, ‘Podcasts, recommend me a good one’ and I got such a good conversation starter.
“Because everyone has got a podcast they’re obsessed with or they want to find out what yours is because they want to find a podcast to listen to.”
It’s not just conversation that can stand you in good stead on Hinge.
April Masini is another relationship expert to share her top tips for being successful when online dating.
And apparently, picking the write photos is essential when you’re looking for love on dating apps.
