365 DNI is believed to be the “sexiest show on Netflix”.
Based on a novel of the same name by Blanka Lipińska, viewers have dubbed the programme the “Polish version of Fifty Shades of Grey”.
Clips from the show are so steamy that fans can’t believe actors didn’t actually get jiggy in them.
On Twitter, one fan gushed: “You can’t tell me they didn’t have sex here, or that it was fake, because that was so real. Breathtaking.”
And another agreed: “365 DNI on Netflix… those sex scenes were way too realistic to not be real?!”
Actor Michele Morrone has since cleared up any confusion by saying it’s his brilliant acting that makes the moments seem so life-like.

The debate got us thinking about times when stars chose to romp on screen instead of faking it.
From Robert Pattinson pleasuring himself in Little Ashes, to Shia LaBeouf’s and Stacy Martin’s body doubles going at it in Nymphomaniac: Volume I, there are plenty of naughty examples out there.
Here are six times actors really had sex on set.
Little Ashes, 2008
In the same year he starred in Twilight, Robert Pattinson worked on a very different film.
He played Salvador Dali in Little Ashes, where he went above and beyond to get into character.
R-Patz told Germany’s Interview magazine: “I once decided to quit acting; it was when I did ‘Little Ashes’.
“I played Salvador Dali and had to do a lot of scenes where I was naked, and I also had to masturbate. I mean really.
“My orgasm face is recorded for eternity.”

Even though Robert could have faked it for the cameras, he thought the real self-love moment would be more compelling.
He added: “(Pretending) just doesn’t work, so I pleasured myself in front of the camera.”
Well, that’s dedication…
2. Nymphomaniac, 2013
Real porn doubles were used to film sex scenes in Nymphomaniac.
This means the action you see on screen is real – even if it isn’t Stacy Martin, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Uma Therman or Shia LaBeouf acting them.
The pair got naked and simulated sex on fake vaginas and penises made out of prosthetics.
And in scenes where there were full-on romps, the actors faces were CGI’d onto the adult body doubles.
These factors make Lars von Trier’s movie a very explicit one.
Actress Stacy spoke about shooting the raunchy scenes.

She told Vice: “We had a nudity contract.
“Everything was set in stone before we did the film, so we all knew what we were doing.
“I was told that I would have a porn double – that I wouldn’t be doing anything sexual.
“We all agreed – and Lars agreed – that we would be using prosthetics and just stuff like that.”
3. Brown Bunny, 2003

When this indie flick hit Cannes in 2003, it immediately caught the attention of film fans.
It helped to put American actress Chloë Sevigny on the map.
When filming a scene, she performed unsimulated oral sex on her then-boyfriend and co-star Vincent Gallo.
Audiences couldn’t stop talking about the moment – but some worried the explicit scene would damage Chloë’s career.
Despite this, the actress has gone on to star in popular shows including American Horror Story and The Mindy Project.

Back in 2016, Chloë said she had no regrets about filming the oral sex scene – even if it felt a bit awkward to do.
She told the Independent: “It happened.
“I wish I had the confidence I had now. I was insecure.
“Everyone says, ‘what do you regret?’ And I know that they want me to say The Brown Bunny, but I won’t.”
4. Lie With Me
In 2005, the adaption of Tamara Faith Berger’s novel hit screens.
The plot follows the kinky affair of a man and woman – played by film stars Lauren Lee Smith and Eric Balfour.
Threesomes, masturbation and unsimulated sexual content are rife in the movie.
And according to Lauren, some scenes were rather awkward to shoot.

In an interview with CBC, she said the most “challenging scene to shoot was probably the first love scene”.
She added: “It was our first day shooting together and we just had to sort of jump in and get in our underwear and start making out.
“The nervous giggles were authentic for sure but I think it was somewhat challenging for all of us.
“It was unbearably hot and we weren’t able to have the air con on so we were just dripping with sweat, which doesn’t make you feel that sexy.”
5. Shortbus, 2006

This 2006 comedy-drama follows a group of characters living in Brooklyn, New York.
It was written and directed by John Cameron Mitchell, who wanted to “employ sex in new cinematic ways because it’s too interesting to leave to porn”.
The movie pushes plenty of boundaries by including X-rated scenes including unsimulated sex, visible penetration and male ejaculation.
To show his dedication to the concept, the director can even be spotted in the final scene.

Instead of being a porn film, Mitchell wanted the movie to focus on character and a storyline.
He also wanted it to promote body confidence and take the fear out of speaking about sex.
The director added: “We’re living in this culture now where we are encouraged to be frightened of everything, including relationships and our own bodies.
“That makes this a political film. It stands up for joy.”
6. Caligula

Caligula was controversial before it even hit screens.
Gore Vidal wrote the script, which was then largely altered by director Tinto Brass.
After the screenplay was rewritten, producer Bob Guccione “sexed” everything up in an extreme way.
Vidal and Brass protested against the use of unsimulated sexual content, but were overruled.
Then the film divided opinion even more when it was released in 1979.
The movie, which was a “one-of-a-kind marriage of the historical epic and a porn film”, was deemed so explicit that it was banned in Australia.
Sex shows, orgies and full penetration were shown on screen.
Directors roped in real adult stars to make the X-rated moments as raunchy as possible.
And Penthouse Pets were cast as extras to add a touch more glamour into the mix.
Well, it’s definitely memorable…
