They will take the top spot on Friday, July 7.
Kasabian, fresh from a major UK arena tour last month, are Serge Pizzorno, bassist Chris Edwards, drummer Ian Matthews and guitarist Tim Carter.
The band’s music has been described as a mix between The Stone Roses and Primal Scream with the swagger of Oasis.
Their 22 singles include top 10 hits Cutt Off, Empire and highest charting single to date, Fire, which debuted at number three as the lead track from 2009’s West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum.
Known for their blistering live shows, when Kasabian head to Leeds Millennium Square next summer fans can expect hits spanning their 25-year career, which has included seven studio albums – six hit the number one spot, including latest release, 2022’s The Alchemist’s Euphoria.
Serge said of the summer release: “One thing about this record I feel over the other ones, is it definitely feels like a body of work that belongs together.
“It was a beautiful moment in mastering hearing it as a piece. I think it really holds up in our seven albums….The Magnificent Seven”.
The Kasabian announcement comes after it was revealed earlier today that pop rockers McFly will also headline Sounds Of The City, at Leeds Millennium Square – they play the previous night, Thursday, July 6.
