Washington, D.C. — SpaceNews, the trusted source for space industry news and analysis for more than 35 years, announces the appointment of Laurie Diamond as Vice President of Business Development. This strategic hire underscores SpaceNews’s continued investment in building a high-performing team to lead the company’s next phase of growth across media, events and intelligence offerings.
Laurie joins SpaceNews with more than 15 years of experience in business development, specializing in advertising and sponsorship programs for federal, aerospace, and defense markets. She brings deep expertise in building enterprise-level partnerships, crafting high-impact multimedia campaigns and unlocking new revenue opportunities in complex and evolving sectors.
As Vice President of Business Development, Diamond will work alongside VP of Global Sales Kamal Flucker and Clara Swan, Sales & Business Development Manager. Diamond will focus on enterprise growth and strategic account development across digital, print, custom content, intelligence products and live event platforms.

Before joining SpaceNews, Diamond served as Associate Publisher and VP of Strategic Operations at Defense One (GovExec), where she played a pivotal role in tripling revenue, expanding market reach and launching new verticals including space. Prior to that, she drove federal IT and defense advertising growth at The Washington Post, managing strategic accounts such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Verizon.
Known for her ability to connect editorial excellence with client objectives, Diamond will work cross-functionally with the product, editorial and marketing teams to shape impactful advertising and sponsorship solutions.
