ECONOMYNEXT – Asiri Academy of Health Sciences and Sunway University Malaysia have signed an agreement to enable Sri Lankan students to continue undergraduate programs at Sunway University.
The MoU enables students who have completed the AAHS Foundation in Health Sciences to progress directly into three undergraduate programs at Sunway University; the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nursing, Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Medical Biotechnology, and Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology.
“More articulation pathways are currently being explored to the full range of degree programmes offered by Sunway University,” the company said in a statement.
AAHS is the first healthcare education institute in Sri Lanka to partner with Sunway University to create opportunities for Sri Lankan students to pursue international healthcare education, soon after their GCE Ordinary Level examinations, the company said.
Students awaiting their Advanced Level examination results are also eligible to enrol.
“The innovative pathway allows students to begin their healthcare education journey immediately after their GCE Ordinary Level examination, with a minimum of five credit passes required for entry.”
“Upon completing the eight-month foundation program at AAHS, students can seamlessly transition to Sunway University, significantly accelerating their academic progression.”
“The partnership represents a significant advancement in healthcare education for Sri Lankan youth. Enabling students to begin their healthcare education journey as early as age 16 or 17, AAHS is creating a fast-track route to globally recognized qualifications in high-demand fields,” Softlogic Group Chairman Ashok Pathirage said.
“This is part of the broader collaboration between Sunway Group and Asiri Health Group that will include joint research, knowledge and expertise exchange as well as business opportunities between the two leading organisations,” Sunway Group Chairman Tan Sri Sir Dr Jeffrey Cheah KBE AO said.
