Gary Graham, the actor best known for starring in the TV series Alien Nation and Star Trek: Enterprise, has died at the age of 73. To many Trekkies, he’ll be remembered as the Vulcan ambassador Soval who reprised his role in both official and unofficial films across the Star Trek universe. In addition to Ambassador Soval, Graham also stepped into other roles like Tanis on the Star Trek: Voyager series and Ragnar in the fan films Star Trek: Of Gods and Men and Star Trek: Renegades.
Graham’s ex-wife Susan shared the news of his death on social media. “It is with deep profound sadness to say that Gary Graham, my ex-husband, amazing actor, and father of our beautiful only child together, Haylee Graham, has passed away today,” she said. Both she and their daughter are “completely devastated” by their loss.
“I met Gary when I was just 20 years old and he was one half of the star duo on the TV series Alien Nation. But he had already been in movies like All the Right Moves with Tom Cruise. Of course, Gary has many more credits,” she said. “Gary was funny, sarcastic sense of humor but kind, fought for what he believed in, a devout Christian and was so proud of his daughter, Haylee.”
She noted that Graham was with his wife Becky at the time of his death, which she says was a “sudden” shock. “Please pray for our daughter as she navigates through this thing called grief,” she pleaded. “Fly high into the heavens, Gar! Thank you for our journey and thank you for the gifts you left me in acting, my love of horses, and most importantly, our daughter.”
Graham is survived by his wife Becky, daughter Haylee, and ex-wife Susan.
