MADISON, Wis. (WXOW) – The number of positive cases of COVID-19 in the state topped 600,000 on Tuesday according to figures released by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
With the addition of 721 cases, there’s now been a total of 600,297 cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
Of all positive cases reported, 584,515, or 97.4 percent, are considered recovered.
Other data from today shows that 2,009,464 people, or 34.5 percent of the state’s population, are now fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
Figures from DHS show 2,532,647 people in the state have received at least one dose of the vaccine. That translates to 43.5 percent of state residents according to DHS.
In Western Wisconsin to date, 120,051 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine. It equates to 43.7 percent of the total number of people in Western Wisconsin. 101,305, or 36.5 percent, have completed the vaccine series.
The DHS figures show that 58,647 people or 49.7 percent of residents of La Crosse County have had at least one dose of the vaccine. 48,655 people in La Crosse County or 41.2 percent completed the vaccine series according to the state.
In other counties, these are the percentages for the population completing the series of COVID vaccinations: Monroe: 28.4 percent, Vernon: 34.4 percent, Trempealeau: 39.3 percent, and Jackson: 30.3 percent.

DHS said there were eleven new deaths in the state from COVID-19 on Tuesday. The number of deaths in the state from the virus is at 6,850.
Two of the reported deaths in the state were in La Crosse County.

86 people were hospitalized in the past day as well.
