‘That’s why I fell in love with you’: Stef Reid reveals her husband Brent Lakatos’ – who was paralysed in ice-skating accident – reaction to her doing Dancing On Ice
Stef Reid has revealed the sweet words of support her husband Brent Lakatos gave her when he learned she was taking part in this year’s Dancing on Ice.
Speaking in a new interview, Paralympian Stef, 37, shared that 41-year-old Brent – who was left paralysed aged six after falling on the ice and forming a blood clot on his spine – said: ‘Go for it.’
Stef told The Mirror: ‘[He said] that’s why I fell in love with you because you’re ridiculous and think you can do anything – good on you, go for it.’

She admitted: ‘He did kind of roll his eyes and say, ”Stefanie, you’re nuts”, but he kind of thought that anyway.’
Stef also revealed Brent has not shied away from watching her hair-raising performances.
She added: ‘He watches all my lifts.
‘He’ll tell me straight, and he said, ”You did really well”. He said I skate better than he thought I would.’

On Sunday’s Dancing On Ice, Stef and her partner Andy Buchanan skated to (I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life for the show’s Movie Week.
They were awarded a score of 26.5 for their efforts.

Earlier this month, she shed light on her prosthetic skating leg and praised the ‘amazing’ technology when speaking to MailOnline.
Opening up, she said: ‘It’s been amazing. I’m so fortunate that my whole life, I have had access and funds… prosthetic technology is amazing.
‘I mean, I have woken up every day and always felt like I could do anything I wanted to do because I have legs to do it. I have a walking leg, a running leg, a high-heel leg, I have a skating leg.
‘I know that’s not everyone’s scenario around the world. That, I feel really grateful for.’
