U.S. stocks rose Thursday after a seesaw week, driven by uncertainty about the potential impact of the Omicron Covid-19 variant.
The S&P 500 edged up 1.6%, indicating the broad-market index may recoup some losses. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose nearly 2%, adding more than 600 points, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.9%.
