GOOD EVENING FROM CARDIFF
Welcome to SunSport’s live coverage of the World Cup qualifying match between Wales and the Czech Republic.
With both sides having already faced the overwhelming favourites for Group E, Belgium, tonight’s contest represents a great opportunity for these second and third seeds to lay down a marker in their quest to qualify for Qatar 2022.
The Czechs are currently top of the pile, having followed up their 6-2 thrashing of Estonia with an impressive point against the Belgians in Prague.
And coach Jaroslav Silhavy will now have his Bundesliga-based players available again – including captain Vladimir Darida – after they missed out on Saturday’s game due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Meanwhile, Wales’ caretaker boss Rob Page made 11 changes for the friendly win over Mexico at the weekend, the most notable of which saw Chris Gunter win a record 100th cap.
Kieffer Moore was the matchwinner against the Mexicans, making it five goals in 14 international appearances, and the Cardiff striker has overcome a heel problem to put himself in contention for a first competitive start for his country.
However, Welsh preparations have been hampered by disciplinary issues that meant Hal Robson-Kanu, Rabbi Matondo and Tyler Roberts were released from the squad for breaching protocols.
The trio join will have to make do with watching from home, alongside earlier withdrawals such as Aaron Ramsey, Ben Davies and the unfortunate Joe Allen, who lasted just seven minutes on his return in Leuven last Wednesday before succumbing to further injury.
We’ll have confirmation of tonight’s starting line-ups imminently as well as all the build-up ahead of kick-off at the Cardiff City stadium at 7.45pm.
