NEXT STAGE: Redesign in 2021
The 2022 Subaru BRZ marks the first redesign for the coupe. Under the hood is a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter, four-cylinder boxer engine with 228 hp and 184 pound-feet of torque. The engine replaces the coupe’s previous 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 205 hp and 156 pound-feet of torque. While the latest BRZ’s general shape and stance resembles the outgoing model, most of the body panels and exterior elements are smoother compared with the previous generation. Inside, there’s a more refined interior which is highlighted by a 7-inch digital dashboard. Subaru, which skipped a 2021 model year BRZ, said U.S. deliveries of the 2022 model will begin in early fall 2021.
