A member of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority’s (EMA) media center, Manar Ghanem said that it is likely that higher temperatures are to be expected and that there will be more heat waves to come, as summer is still set to officially end in a month.
Ghanem added that there will be a rise in temperatures that will be higher than normal, and once temperatures drop to near normal the weather will remain summery, not moderate.
“When we witness a heat wave during the coming period, it will not be as severe as we experienced in July and August, because the climatic averages for September are lower than in July and August,” she said.
Monday’s weather:
Active winds are expected along the coasts of Marsa Matrouh, al-Alamein, and Alexandria, with waves reaching 2.25 meters above sea level.
The EMA warned that maritime navigation will be disrupted along the Red Sea and Gulf of Suez coasts, with waves reaching three meters high.
