Yue Chang Dai, the sole director at Good View Da in Dartford, Kent has been found guilty of deliberately concealing orders to avoid £265,000 worth of taxes.
In October 2019, Good View takeaway was unable to pay its debts, therefore it was placed into voluntary liquidation and referred to the Insolvency Service for further investigations.
Investigators then found that in total at liquidation, Dai owed nearly £364,000 to the tax authorities, due to including penalties and interest.
Lawrence Zussman, deputy director at insolvent investigations for the Insolvency Service, said: “From the very start of trading, Yue Chang Dai deliberately suppressed takings with the sole intention of avoiding paying the correct amount of taxes.
“He thought he could walk away from his responsibilities without repercussions but instead Yue Chang Dai’s actions means he has been disqualified from the catering industry and the wider business environment for a significant period.”
The secretary of state did accept a disqualification undertaking from Dai as he did not dispute that his business failed to submit accurate tax returns.
As a result, from 11 January he will serve a seven-year ban from becoming involved in the promotion, formation, or management of any company.
