Tammin Sursok reveals what it was like working with Chris Hemsworth on Home and Away

Tammin Sursok has reflected on her time on the long-running and iconic Australian soap, Home and Away.

The Aussie actress, who now enjoys a successful career in Hollywood, appeared on the soap as Dani Sutherland from 2000 – 2004 and won a Logie Award for her role.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Australia this week, the 38-year-old said she’s grateful for the experience as it ‘kickstarted her career’.

Tammin, who recently thrilled fans by sharing throwback pictures of herself with former castmate Chris Hemsworth at her 21st birthday party, recalled what it was like working with Thor star back in the day.

The South African-born Australian actress and singer said that she and Chris, and fellow co-stars Isabel Lucas and Bec Hewitt were all ‘bushy tailed and bright-eyed’ at the start of their careers.

‘Australians are very down to earth… We were all starting out in our careers, we were new and excited,’ Tammin recalled.

‘Everyone was lovely. I’m grateful for the experience and he [Chris] was lovely and I’m sure he still is,’ she explained

She said that despite getting constant questions from diehard fans about the show, often in her Instagram Q&As, she’s more than happy to talk about it.

‘I look back [at it] with great nostalgia,’ she said.

‘I always remember that time. I was 17 years old, it was lifechanging, the memories I have on that show are like no other, it shaped me to who I am today.’

She added: ‘I never get frustrated about that and you have to come from somewhere… if they [the fans] have fond memories, that makes me happy.’

After leaving Home and Away, Tammin went on to appear on The Young and the Restless and Pretty Little Liars.

Tammin said that her hit show Pretty Little Liars ‘changed her life’ in the US.

Looking back at her career success, she said she’s incredibly ‘grateful’.

‘Luckily, everything has been in my favour and I’m grateful I’ve had the opportunities I’ve had and can have a family at the same time of working, it’s a blessing,’ she said.

She added that her success in Hollywood was down to ‘a lot of luck and hard work’.

‘It’s not always the easiest career to choose but when it does work out, it’s wonderful,’ she said of her acting career.
