Teyana Taylor is sick of the way her divorce from Iman Shumpert is being reported, especially in light of the fact she says she did her best to keep things private.
The “Gonna Love Me” singer took to social media to express her frustration with websites like TMZ, claiming that they are misconstruing the situation.
She wrote on Instagram, “Yo @tmz you serious???? Y’all really be taking it too far with these d*mn misleading headlines and I’m tired of it! Every time I turn around it’s either half leaked and made up stories, or words being twisted up for clickbait!!!! I kindly ask you mothaf%ckas to mind ya damn business, and for y’all to respect me and my family’s privacy.”

Taylor seemed to be responding to a story from TMZ that claimed Iman Shumpert was, “playing dirty in their divorce war…slowly shutting down all the utilities in the home where she lives with their 2 children.”
The “Issues/Hold On” crooner filed for divorce in January 2023 using her and Iman’s initials to protect their privacy, which was spoiled by the former NBA player, who counter-filed using their real names.
Last we heard from the artist and actor was earlier this week when it was revealed that her starring role in the upcoming biopic about Dionne Warwick’s life has finally gotten the green light. Taylor announced the news alongside a note that the film had secured its funding.
Taylor announced the win on Instagram on. There, she praised the iconic “Heartbreaker” singer and thanked her hardworking team for their dedication.
“And just like that.. 2020MORE Blessings!” she began. “Ms. Dionne Warwick… A woman of great statue, poise and elegance, with a fiery spirit — Realizing I was looking at my future self. My reflection without a mirror.”
She continued: “Being able to learn and study from one of the greats like, @therealdionnew has allowed me to learn a lot about myself and the woman I am today. She has taught us to be proud of who you are…. —Don’t Make Me Over. @therealdionnew Your music and social involvement has enhanced the culture. Your soul and artistry serves as an example of not only resilience and strength, but of faith and purpose.”
“Thank you for trusting me, @coco_gilbert And our production company @theauntiesinc with telling your iconic story! We are so excited to make you proud!” she concluded. “Shout out to @iamdamonelliott it’s GO TIMEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! It’s been a long time coming!!!”
