Fourteen players from around Kentucky, including two from Lexington, were named Kentucky All-Stars this week by the Kentucky High School Softball Coaches Association.
The Kentucky All-Stars will face the Tennessee All-Stars in a battle of high school seniors on June 27-28 at Vol State Community College in Gallatin, Tenn.
Kentucky’s All-Stars were selected from among seniors who participated in last weekend’s Kentucky East-West All-Star Series in Bowling Green.
Kentucky and Tennessee have been facing off each summer in softball since 2006.
Kentucky’s 14-player squad is headlined by Miss Softball Emma Winkle of Estill County, who will be joined in the games by teammate Lauren Farmer.
Kaileigh Brooks of Lafayette and Shaylin Lewis of Tates Creek will represent Lexington in the event.
The remainder of the roster includes Jessie Begley (Pulaski County), Elly Bennett (South Warren), Madison Davis (Oldham County), Anna Greenwell (Highlands), Mak Grimes (Oldham County), Caitlyn Oliver (Greenwood), Amber Osborne (Madisonville), Caroline Pitcock (South Warren), Charley Pursely (Marshall County) and Kaila Stidham (Corbin).
