The Block’s controversial Hampton cul-de-sac homes go under the hammer this weekend — and show insiders have revealed who they think will take out the crown and hefty prize money.
The Block’s 2021 homes go under the hammer this weekend and insiders are predicting the renovated bayside properties will be hotly contested.
More than $14m-worth of property is up for grabs in the finale of the Fans vs. Faves edition of the show, airing Sunday night.
Set in a cul-de-sac in Melbourne’s beachside Hampton, the properties will appeal to families and investors.

What made mild-mannered Block landscaper explode?
Buyer’s agent Nicole Jacobs, who sold a house she owned to the show for this season, tipped Kirsty and Jesse, who had a larger 911sq m block, to take out top spot.
But she said Mitch and Mark, who renovated one of the four remaining 600sq m properties, were the “dark horse”.
“Obviously it will come down to reserves on the day and auction order — we know they play a huge role in the outcome,” Ms Jacobs said.
“But based on land and opportunity for a family home you would have to think Kirsty and Jesse have a good chance of taking it out.
“My dark horse is Mitch and Mark — they have created a real four-bedroom with real connection. And gosh, it comes with a Chanel handbag.”
Ms Jacobs said Ronnie and Georgia were also “strong contenders”.
McGrath St Kilda’s Michael Townsend, who is representing returning favourites Mitch and Mark, said there had been more interest from owner-occupiers this year, given the family feel and location.
“That’s been refreshing because you’re not dealing with someone who walks in and wants to see a depreciation schedule, you’re dealing with people who want to be in the neighbourhood,” Mr Townsend said.
And while admitting he was biased, the agent said he was “legitimately really, really confident” Mitch and Mark could win.
“I think it will be a three horse race with us, house one and house four,” he said.
JOSH AND LUKE (HOUSE FOUR)
10 Bronte Court, Hampton
4 bed, 3 bath, 1 car
Price guide: $2.6m-$2.8m
Listing agency: Ray White Cheltenham (Kevin Chokshi, Elise Russell)
Buyer’s agent Nicole Jacobs said: “They definitely have a great position on the court — it’s always great to be on the bend. They’ve got a good connection to the northern light.
But it’s very different, I think that you have to really like what you see … it has some amazing pieces inside that you will either love or hate.”
KIRSTY AND JESSE (HOUSE FIVE)
1 Bronte Court, Hampton
4 bed, 4 bath, 2 car
Price guide: $3.2m-$3.4m
Listing agency: Buxton Brighton (Michelle Gaget, Halli Moore)
Buyer’s agent Nicole Jacobs said: “That is an amazing piece of land to have a big family home and it really is a big family home with an alfresco and pool.
The appeal could be across the board purely because there’s a lot of space – young families who could grow into the house or those who have older children still at home.”
TANYA AND VITO (HOUSE THREE)
8 Bronte Court, Hampton
3 bed, 3 bath, 2 car
Price guide: $2.6m-$2.8m
Listing agency: The Agency (Jesse Raeburn, Christine Henderson)
Buyers agent Nicole Jacobs said: “Thank goodness they’ve kept the amazing face. They’re the only true three-bedroom on The Block and I think while they could still appeal to a family, we might get some upscalers. And also those who love mid -entry may be attracted to it.”
MITCH AND MARK (HOUSE TWO)
4 Bronte Court, Hampton
4 bed, 3 bath, 2 car
Price guide: $2.6m-$2.8m
Listing agency: McGrath St Kilda (Michael Townsend, Josh Stirling)
Buyer’s agent Nicole Jacobs said: “I think these guys have done an amazing job using the cul-de-sac. The parents can be relaxing having a tea or coffee or wine and watch their kids in the front yard or running around in the court.”
RONNIE AND GEORGIA (HOUSE ONE)
2 Bronte Court, Hampton
4 bed, 2 bath, 3 car
Price guide: $2.6m-$2.8m
Listing agency: Belle Property Sandringham (David Wood, Jenny Dwyer)
Buyer’s agent Nicole Jacobs said: “I think they’re the masters of being able to present a home that is very luxurious — they play with a lot of texture. They really know how to appeal to a broad section of the market which I think is essential in maximising price come auction day. The white pallet with textures is really sophisticated but allows (the buyer) to add their own personality.”
