DEFENDING CHAMPION: Former World No.1 Sung Hyun Park shot 15-under-par 273 in 2019 to defeat Australia’s Minjee Lee by two shots.
COURSE: The Tanjong Course at Sentosa Golf Club opened in 1993 and was originally designed by Max Wexler. The 6,143-metre par-72 layout – which is set along the Singapore Straits and features tight fairways, plenty of water hazards and challenging green complexes – underwent a major redesign led by Andrew Johnston and Matt Swanson in 2016.
PRIZEMONEY: US$1,600,000.
PLAYERS TO WATCH …
South Korean Sung Hyun Park is the most recent winner of this event following its cancelation in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Park returns to Sentosa this week in the worst form of her LPGA Tour career – which began in 2017 – having missed five of the past six cuts and only recording one score in the 60s from her 23 most recent rounds. The 27-year-old is also experiencing a lengthy winless drought and hasn’t tasted silverware since claiming her 18th professional title at the Arkansas Championship in mid-2019.
The two-time major winner was first in the world rankings when she was last in Singapore. She will begin this week at World No.19. Don’t write her off, though. Park has never missed the cut here and shared 24th place in 2018 and was third in 2017.

Perth product Hannah Green recorded her best finish of the year last week with her third-place finish at the LA Open.
The two-time LPGA Tour winner has improved every week since beginning her latest US campaign at the end of March and is trending in the right direction, posting three consecutive top-15s.
Green will make her first appearance at this event this week. But the tricky layout should suit her elite short game, for which she is currently ranked 15th and 10th respectively for her putting average and sand saves.
The 24-year-old has also added nearly 23 metres to her average driving distance this year and hardly dropped off in accuracy (67.86 percent of fairways hit in 2021 versus 70.92 percent in 2020).
72-HOLE RECORD: Mexico’s Lorena ochoa reached 20-under-par 268 at Tanah Merah Country Club in 2008 to defeat Annika Sorenstam by 11 shots.
PAST AUSSIE WINNERS: Karrie Webb (2011).
AUSTRALIANS IN THE FIELD: Hannah Green, Katherine Kirk, Minjee Lee and Su Oh.
