But despite their ups-and-downs, Colby ultimately decided to propose to his girlfriend during the series finale, with an emotional Madlyn grinning from ear-to-ear as she said yes.
And the couple took it one step further as they decided to wed on the show in an intimate ceremony surrounded by candles and in front of a modern floral archway.

She told Buzzfeed: ‘Honestly, that’s [the pregnancy] probably been a huge help — not because we’re stuck together, but because we’ve been forced to make really long-term, smart, sit-down decisions.’
Madlyn revealed they discovered that she was pregnant after their joint bachelor and bachelorette parties, admitting she was both ‘excited’ and scared’ at first.

He gushed: ‘I’m blown away by how she has handled it. My sister recently had a baby just last year so we got the full experience of like the whole, how it works process of the pregnancy.
‘She [Madlyn] has no problems, no aches, no nothing, she is just like an absolute champ about it.’
Madlyn also spoke about them wasting no time at all in starting their family after tying the knot, as she joked that Colby was desperate to have a child immediately.
‘Yeah it wasn’t like trying to get pregnant, it was trying not for him to get me pregnant as soon as we got married,’ she quipped.
While Colby added: ‘As soon as we got married I was like next step, starting a family.’

Big decision! The couple had dramatic ups-and-downs on The Ultimatum but Colby and Madlyn ultimately got engaged during the emotional series finale
In the couples on the show, one person in the relationship is ready for marriage while the other has their own doubts. Colby issued the ultimatum to Madlyn as he wanted to tie the knot.
While the couples decided what they were going to do, they chose a new potential partner to get to know – from the other couples.
They lived with their new partner – with Colby choosing April Marie and Madlyn picking Randall Griffin – for a three-week trial marriage to discover if they could have a successful new relationship, or if their hearts remained with their existing partners.
Colby and April formed a friendly connection during their time living together, after they paired up together when they weren’t able to match up with who they originally hoped to, while Madlyn and Randall appeared to form a more romantic bond.
The new couple admitted to being attracted to each other and kissing ‘off-camera’, but also had a tearful argument after Madlyn was told Colby had kissed another woman in a club.
Nuptials: After proposing, Colby suggested they tie the knot there and then on the show, and they exchanged their vows in a beautiful ceremony in front of a floral archway
Surprisingly honest scenes also saw Madlyn’s friends admit that they liked Randall when they met him as they voiced their concerns about Colby.
After the trial, they reunited with their original partners and moved back in together for three weeks, testing whether they were ready to get down on one knee.
Colby and Madlyn then butted heads over his decision to kiss a woman in a club while they were apart, with Colby arguing he did it to make the separation ‘real’ as he hadn’t formed a romantic connection with April.
They had an emotional argument on their last night together before making their big decision, with a tearful Madlyn saying she wasn’t sure if she could marry Colby.
But the next day, Colby admitted that he had made a mistake and apologized to Madlyn as the couple prepared to make their life-changing decision.
And during the final episode, the couple overcame their ups-and-downs as Colby got down on one knee to pop the question, with an overjoyed Madlyn accepting his proposal.
Colby then suggested that they tie the knot there and then, and they exchanged their vows in a beautiful ceremony in front of a floral archway.
Speaking on the show moments after tying the knot, Madlyn said: ‘I wanted to marry Colby coming in here, just not now. I needed time, I needed the trials and be careful what you ask for because we got them!
‘Our lows were low, we hit rock bottom and it hurt. But being able to get back up and fight, not against each other but for each other is what got us here!’
‘Believe it or not, I am glad that Colby issued me an ultimatum,’ she added.
