We found a house in PA that we love but there’s a storm drain in the backyard and its listed as an easement on the seller’s disclosure. We want to put in an offer but are concerned about the easement because we have no idea what it actually means and how it limits us on putting up something like a fence or deck. What’s the best way to find out? My realtor suggested we call the town’s zoning departments first thing in the morning but he wasn’t 100% sure if that was the right place.
Any advice? How do the easements for something like this normally work? Like is it just the area around the stormdrain or a path from the stormdrain to the street or could it be across the whole backyard? We’ll call the town tomorrow but we’re really excited about this house and are trying to get as much info as quickly as we can so we can put in an offer tomorrow.
