A couple moving to Geelong for work and who are keen to enjoy the city’s lifestyle perks, won the keys to the three-bedroom, two-bathroom residence at Fagg St.
Patrick Costello and Karen Tacon paid $635,000 for the immaculately-presented home that was built in 1980.
The property was listed with price hopes of $540,000 to $590,000.

The pair have been actively property hunting for two months, scouring suburbs including Highton and Geelong West before discovering Thomson.
They were drawn to the flat land in the area as well as the easy access to the Bellarine Rail Trail, East Geelong and the CBD.
“We’ve come down for work, and wanted to have somewhere that was close to the city so we can cycle, get to the beach, have a garden and have visitors” Ms Tacon said.
“We just met two beautiful neighbours.
“We really love Geelong.”
Bidding opened at $550,000 and the auction looked set to be a two-way battle as the price climbed to $600,000 where Hayeswinckle, Newtown auctioneer Michelle Winckle declared the property on the market.
Mr Costello and Ms Tacon entered the race at $620,000, and held off one other bidder before Ms Winckle sold the property for $635,000.
The light-filled home is set back from the street has an open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge zone.
Outside, the lawn is northwest facing and there’s a leafy courtyard with a pergola, deck and paved area.
Hayeswinckle, East Geelong agent Adam Murphy said first-home buyers and investors were also among the buyer mix.
“They liked the way it had been renovated, that it was tucked away, the garden and the general feel of the place,” he said.
“There is a lot of buyers out there that want to buy a place with everything done, they’re liking the fully-renovated properties.”
The property last traded in 2015 for $290,000.
