The real question is – what happens when the music stops? If there are mass evictions, where do those tenants go? Who do landlords replace those tenants with?
Are banks actually going to foreclose or will owners sell into the open market? Who are the buyers – hedge funds and other large institutional accounts?
The whole thing seems like a mess and it does not bode well for the housing market – especially given how inflated it seems to be right now.
