Tottenham Hotspur went top of the Premier League table after a 2-0 win over Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Goals from Son Heung-min and Giovani Lo Celso saw Jose Mourinho’s side make it four straight victories in the top flight. Express Sport takes a look at how each Spurs player did and you can read our individual ratings below.
Hugo Lloris – 7
The sort of commanding figure you need when your backs are to the wall. A captain’s innings.
Serge Aurier – 7
Seemed to always be on the brink of a catastrophic error but somehow always escaped. Remarkable.
Eric Dier – 8
Finally the sort of dominant centre-back performance his club and his country are looking for.
Toby Alderweireld – 9
Incredible backwards tackle on Jesus in the first half set the tone for immaculate defending before limping off.
Sergio Reguilon – 7
Worked so hard to keep Mahrez and often De Bruyne on a leash. Then had Sterling to contend with.
Moussa Sissoko – 6
Ran and ran all day and sometimes, Mourinho will be pleased to note, in the right direction. Great work rate.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – 8
Just a spiky, spoiling presence in the middle of anything City tried to achieve. No wonder Mourinho loves him.
Tanguy Ndombele – 7
Superb pass for Son opening goal but was clearly tiring from the chasing he did after that.
Steven Bergwijn – 6
Chased lost causes for most of the evening before finally running out of puff. Needed to hold up ball more.
Harry Kane – 8
Another assist, some vital headers and one particularly amazing tackle. Can be forgiven for not scoring!
Son Heung-min – 7
Never looked like he would miss when put through so early. Job done, he did then struggled to get into game.
Substitutes:
Giovani Lo Celso – (for Ndombele 65) 7
Lucas Moura – (for Moura 73)
Joe Rodon – (for Alderweireld 82)
