Meanwhile, former host Erica revealed on Sunday that she and Sally aren’t just leaving Triple J – they have also ended their creative partnership after eight years.
She told her Instagram followers that their show being axed by Triple J coincided with the ‘natural conclusion’ of the pair’s ‘creative ride together’.
‘In fact, the show was doing really well. We were getting great feedback across the board – from management and our listeners. Until recently, we were all planning for a 2021 where Sally and Erica would grow and grow,’ Erica said.

‘Sally and I started out together when I was 18, and I’m so proud of everything we have done over the last eight or so years – at triple j, as Coda Conduct, at FBI, the lot. She’s so clever and inspired and I’ve always admired that.
‘I wanted breakfast to continue. I really did, with my whole heart. Unfortunately, the reality was that although Sally and Erica – the show – was going great guns, Sally and Erica – the people – were coming to the natural conclusion of their eight-year creative ride together.’
Announcing her departure on November 17, Sally said: ‘I’m so incredibly grateful to have spent the last four years as part of Australia’s biggest family of music lovers.’
‘I’ve had so many pinch-myself moments, but the most amazing part of my time at triple J has been the audience. Triple J listeners never fail to make me cackle, warm my heart and inspire me,’ she told listeners.
‘I’ve loved waking up with you every morning. Thank you for everything. I can’t wait to show you what’s next!’
