Air Force One is returning to the Washington, D.C., area after the president’s plane, which was set to fly to Switzerland where he is scheduled to speak at the World Economic Forum, experienced a minor electrical issue, according to White House officials.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said late Tuesday that the decision to return was made after takeoff when the crew aboard Air Force One identified “a minor electrical issue” and decided to turn around out of an abundance of caution.
She said U.S. President Donald Trump will board another aircraft upon his return and continue on with his trip to the World Economic Forum in Davos.
