TV actor Lukas Gage hit back at a director who insulted him during a Zoom audition as they took cheap shots at his apartment while not realising they were not on mute.
The 25-year-old Euphoria actor was left unimpressed when the unnamed director made unsavoury comments about his home in the midst of an online audition.
Taking to social media after the event, Lukas uploaded the offending moment for fans and followers to see – with the 30-second clip quickly going viral.
In the footage, flowing haired Lukas could be seen addressing the camera while wearing a white, slogan adorned, vest top.
The voice of the director can be heard muttering: “These poor people live in these tiny apartments, like I’m looking at his background, and he’s got his TV and you know…”
Lukas, wincing, then highlights to the director: “Yeah, unmuted.”
Turning the blunder into an opportunity to land the role, the actor said: “I know, it’s a s****y apartment. That’s why [you should] give me this job, so I can get a better one.”
The humiliated director then desperately gasps: “Oh my god, I am so, so sorry… I’m mortified.”
Lucas then says: “Listen, I’m living in a four-by-four box. It’s fine, just give me the job, and we’ll be fine.”
He shared the video online with the caption: “psa: if youre a s*** talking director make sure to mute ur mic on zoom mtgings.”
Lukas won immediate backing and praise from a number of peers – with British-American director Charlie McDowell tweeting: “I can only imagine how bad this director’s movies are.”
Patrick Schwarzenegger commented on Instagram : “I dunno how u reacted so well lol.”
While Riley Keough backed Lukas for uploading the footage to his social media channels, writing: “I dunno who this is but drag him” alongside clapping hands emojis.
