UFC president Dana White is in the violence game.
The more violent, the better. Usually.
But even White was left worried last week when Max Holloway and Kalvin Kattar went five rounds in the UFC’s first card back on Fight Island.

It was a 25-minute masterclass from Holloway, who bullied Kattar in a bout that went the distance, but realistically could, and maybe should, have been stopped earlier.
And now, in a revealing all-access look at the event, a disturbing conversation between White and UFC Executive Vice President, Hunter Campbell, has exposed just how concerned the big boss was.
“He took so much f*cking punishment in this fight,” White told Campbell, via the UFC. “I’m freaking out a little bit — I don’t like it.
“This reminds me of the kind of fight where the fight’s over and he walks out back and f*cking dies.
“I think that f*cking Herb Dean should have stopped it in the fourth round. He was wobbling all over the f*cking place.”
Kattar was too tough for his own good; getting back up after being dropped in the second and surviving an almighty beating in the fourth and fifth to somehow hear a decision on Fight Island.
Holloway’s domination was nailed home when the scorecards were announced: 50-43, 50-43, 50-42. It was just the second 50-42 in UFC history.
White told Campbell: “When this fight’s over, no stopping, no talking, get this kid in an ambulance and get him the f*ck out of here.”
