Marina Rodriguez shocked Amanda Ribas with a stunning two-round TKO demolition of her Brazilian compatriot at UFC 257.
But it wasn’t without controversy and a lot of confusion.
Ribas, who weighed in on fight night 12kg heavier than the official weigh-in, was a heavy favourite going into the first pay-per-view bout ahead of Conor McGregor’s fight with Dustin Poirier.

After some tense grappling in the first round, the fight was over after 54 second as Rodriguez unleashed with a barrage of brutal blows.
Rodriguez caught Ribas with a quick right and dropped her opponent.
As Rodriguerz looked to finish the fight off on the canvas, referee Herb Dean appeared to call the fight off as he made contact with both fighters.

Rodriguez turned to celebrate before she found a dazed Ribas clinging to her leg.
She looked towards and pointed at Dean as Ribas stood up.
Much to the confusion of commentators and fans alike, the referee signalled for the fight to continue.
Despite the short pause it wasn’t long until Rodriguez had the fight wrapped up.
Sensing Ribas was rattled the she walked forward and let rip with the right again, landing a couple of more shots before Dean stepped in and – officially – ended the fight.
