Mouthwatering footage of the viral “tortilla grilled cheese sandwich” currently going wild on TikTok has left foodies convinced they need to try it out.
In the video demonstration for cooking the trending quesadillas recipe, uploaded by TikTok user Alexandra Johnsson who runs @simplefood4you, she shows how she assembles the cheesy feast.
First, she cuts into the tortilla so it can be folded neatly into four and adds mozzarella on one of the quarters, cucumber and bacon onto another, fried chicken on the third, and red onion and tomato on the final one.
The sandwich is then folded up, looking stuffed full of deliciousness even in its raw form, and put into a toasted sandwich maker.

When Alexandra takes it out, the grilled sandwich looks amazing and the cheese oozes when she pulls it apart in front of the camera.
The video has been liked more than 3.5 million times on the video-sharing app since it was uploaded on January 3, with the tortilla trend taking the TikTok world by storm.
“Mmm this looks so nice thank you for the idea,” gushed one fan.
Another admirer said: “No I really want to do this right now.”
“Omg, this would be so easy to make,” enthused a third viewer.
Someone else joked the recipe was so popular they had seen “10 of these” today, while others were horrified by the shininess of the mozzarella.
“That cheese looks like straight plastic no offence,” commented one critic.
A second quipped: “I’m sorry that cheese is literally a mirror.”
