VIRGIN MEDIA SPORT has released its lineup for 2022 and it looks set to be another banner year for the station.
Having amassed its highest ever share of viewers across various age categories, the Irish broadcaster is looking to go from strength to strength.
Here are some highlights to keep an eye out for:
VMTV continues to be the home of premier live sport and this season will bring viewers the ‘Guinness Six Nations’, the ‘UEFA Champions League’ & ‘UEFA Europa League’ and the ‘UEFA European Qualifiers Play-off Finals’, as well as top class horseracing including the Cheltenham and Aintree Festivals.
VMTV will remain the home of the biggest sporting events in the calendar with the Men’s ‘Guinness Six Nations’ returning, and the Women’s and Under 20s tournaments broadcasting on the channel for the first time.
The ‘UEFA Champions League’, ‘UEFA Europa League’ and ‘UEFA Europa Conference League’ will make its return in February.
Plus, all nine games from the ‘UEFA European Qualifiers Play-off Finals’ will air from 24th March.
They’ll also bring viewers the best of horseracing with ‘Cheltenham’ kicking off in March and ‘Aintree Grand National Festival’ in April.
‘Bellator MMA’ is back and live from Dublin in March as Northern Ireland’s Leah McCourt will take on Ireland’s most-recent title challenger Sinead Kavanagh for what looks set to become the biggest Irish female fight ever.
As the 2022 AFL Women’s season kicks off Down Under, they’re bringing the best of the action in our bespoke new show, ‘AFLW Highlights’.
Will Dalton is joined by former Melbourne player and five-time All-Ireland winner with Dublin, Niamh McEvoy, to analyse the games, discuss the big talking points and the latest from the 14 Irish players in Australia.
