Britain faces another few weeks – if not months – stuck in the confines of their homes, as the coronavirus pandemic continues.

Technology, as in the last lockdown, will be vital to keep households working, studying and entertained.

While some have put up with lagging internet and a small range of TV channels, hoping things will change soon, now could be the time to update your services.

There are a number of great offers available for different needs – from superfast broadband to upgrading your TV package to hundreds of channels.

This is Money, with the help of Broadband Choices, lists some of the best deals below.

Broadband

For those needing speedier internet, TalkTalk‘s Fibre 65 offer could be the new deal for you.

Costing £24 a month for 18 months, customers will get an average download speed of 67Mb as well as a £75 voucher.

Customers can choose the voucher they want with a selection including Amazon, Tesco, Marks and Spencer and Mastercard. 

The set up cost is £4.95 but those interested should be quick as the offer ends today.

Those who want even quicker speeds can turn to Virgin Media and its M200 Fibre Broadband only deal. 

For £30 a month for 18 months, customers will have access to average download speeds of 213Mb.

There is no set up cost and households will again receive a £75 voucher of their choosing.

Plusnet are also offering a deal for those who require speed but have a lower budget.

Its Unlimited Fibre offer gives customers speeds of 36Mb at a cost of £22.99 a month for 18 months. 

There is no set up cost but is again only for new customers. 

However, those signing up will get a £70 Plusnet Reward Card which is preloaded with money that you can spend online and in most high street stores that display the Mastercard logo. Click here to sign up.

John Lewis are also offering Fibre Extra Broadband & Evening and Weekend Calls for £30 a month for 12 months. 

Customers will get average download speeds of 66Mb, pay no setup cost and get a £70 John Lewis voucher.

TV and broadband 

BT‘s Sport + Fibre 2 deal is one of the best on the market for combined TV and broadband offers. 

For £37.49 a month for the first 6 months and £44.99 a month after for 24 months, customers will get all four BT Sport channels and BoxNation enabling you to watch the Premier League, every single UEFA Champions League game and Premiership rugby.

You will also get 167 channels including Freeview, AMC and a recordable TV box with 300 hours of storage space.

Households can also browse, stream and download on a few devices at once with fibre broadband.  

There is a £20 set up cost but the deal ends on 7 January and is only available for new customers. Click here to join. 

Sky, meanwhile, is giving customers Sky TV and Superfast Broadband for £39 a month in a new deal. 

Sky Q and Sky Go will be included with over 100 channels not on Freeview plus over 500 Box Sets. 

For new customers only, they will receive average internet download speeds of 59Mbps.

Vodafone is also offering a tempting TV and broadband combined deal. 

On its Superfast 2 Extra plan, customers will get average broadband download speeds of 63Mbps with unlimited broadband usage.

Households will also get Apple TV 4K for free and a one year Apple TV+ subscription. 

It also includes unlimited Anytime calls to standard UK landlines and mobiles on a 24 month contract. 

For those new to Vodafone, the cost is £31 a month but for those already with a pay monthly Vodafone phone, it goes down to £29. Click here to join.
