The Doug and Wolf Show will be replaced on Arizona Sports 98.7 by another program.
The morning show, presented by the duo Doug Franz and Ron Wolfley, is coming to an end after being on air for 15 years.
Fans are very sad about the decision and many wonder what led to the network’s decision to end the program.
Why is the Doug and Wolf Show ending?
The Doug and Wolf Show will be replaced by another show, called Bickley and Marotta. The program, led by Dan Bickley and Vince Marotta, will kick on September 7th and air from 6 to 10 am.
Ryan Hatch, vice president of programming at Bonneville Phoenix, said that while Doug and Wolf had the “most successful run in Valley sports radio history”, it was time for the station to “bring a new energy” to the mornings.
Speaking about the decision, Ryan explained:
“Doug and Wolf had the longest, most successful run in Valley sports radio history and we are so appreciative of all of their great efforts over the years. But now is the time to bring a new energy to mornings with an ensemble cast that will jumpstart each day with strong opinions and plenty of laughs.”
Meanwhile, Ron Wolfley will join Luke Lapinski at The Wolf and Luke Show, while Doug will act as a contributor at the station.
Scott Sutherland, senior vice president and market manager for Bonneville Phoenix, said:
“I cannot say thank you enough to both Doug Franz and Ron Wolfley, who along with being great broadcasters, are both first-class people that have made tremendous contributions to the Arizona Sports brand and our community.”
