He has guided the team to an unprecedented eight straight world constructors’ titles in Formula One, but what is Toto Wolff’s net worth? Does he own a part of Mercedes?
Wolff has been involved in F1 since the early part of the 2010s – when he was involved with the Williams team.
He was on site when the team won the 2012 Spanish Grand Prix, the last win for the team in the lifetime of late founder Sir Frank Williams – who recently passed away.
For 2013, Wolff moved to Mercedes, focusing on the business side of the operation allowing Paddy Lowe to run the technical side with Ross Brawn in overall charge.
Brawn left at the end of 2013, just before Mercedes started to crush the opposition.
In the last eight years, the team has won seven drivers’ titles, eight’ constructors’ and has 111 wins.
Wolff has turned the team into one of the all-time sporting greats, but what is his net worth?
And does he actually own a part of Mercedes?

Toto Wolff net worth revealed
Born in Austria in 1972, Wolff is an ex-racer himself. He started in junior single-seaters in Austria before moving to GT Sportscar racing.
He won his class in the 1994 Nurburgring 24 Hours, continuing to take the odd class win in Sportscar races until his retirement.
He first entered the F1 world as a shareholder in Williams, becoming managing director of the team in 2012.
His Mercedes switch has seen his role evolve.
Wolff, whose height is 6ft 5in or 1.96m – is now in charge of Mercedes as Team Principal and CEO, as well as looking after their Formula E programme.
- REVEALED: Who were the best F1 drivers in 2021?
In his career, Wolff has accumulated a net worth of around $580 million – or £438 million at current exchange rates.
That’s nearly double star driver Lewis Hamilton’s £215 million.
It also swamps rival team boss Christian Horner’s net worth – which is believed to be about $50 million.
Does Wolff own Mercedes?
Unlike Horner who does not own a part of Red Bull Racing, and is just an employee, Wolff does own Mercedes’ F1 Team – or at least a part of it.
Team ownership of the octuple world champions is split three ways.
Wolff owns 33.33%, as does Daimler – the ultimate parent company of Mercedes-Benz itself.
The final owner of the team is Ineos.
A petrochemical company, Ineos was founded by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, one of Britain’s richest men – worth about £13 billion at the last count.
Ineos’s branding started to appear on Mercedes’ F1 cars ahead of the 2020 season.
