What is the Queen’s speech?
The Queen’s speech is an official message to the nation which reveals what the UK government plans to put into law.
Reports have suggested that the speech will contain more than 25 bills and pieces of legislation.
Some of these include the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill, which sparked protests across the UK, as well as the Environment Bill which will focus on climate change post-Brexit.
A spokesperson for No 10 said: “While we are still in the middle of a pandemic this Queen’s Speech will look quite different, but it is important we take forward our plans and deliver policies to improve the lives of people across the country through a new parliamentary session.”

Did the Queen give speech on VE Day?
