Legendary former Denver Broncos coach Dan Reeves has sadly passed away, what was his cause of death?
Dan Reeves, the long-time coach of the Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons has passed away aged 77 in his native Georgia.
Reeves, who played as a running-back in his playing days before transitioning to the dugout passed away a couple of weeks before his 78th birthday.
A one-time Super Bowl winner as a player, Reeves stepped back from coaching in 2003, embarking on a brief broadcasting career.
News of his passing came on January 1st, 2022.

Dan Reeves cause of death explained
Reeves’ death was announced on Saturday 1st January through a family statement issued by former Atlanta Falcons media chief Aaron Salkin.
Reeves’ cause of death was complications from dementia.
The statement said that Reeves had passed away “peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at his home in Atlanta.
“His legacy will continue through his many friends, players and fans as well as the rest of the NFL community.”
The Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons both issued statements about the news of Reeves’ passing.
The Broncos said they were “deeply saddened” at Reeves passing and that he helped to “set the foundation for the Broncos’ decade of dominance in the 1980s.”
In a similar nature, the Falcons echoed those thoughts, extending their condolences to Reeve’s friends and family, including wife Pat.
Who did Reeves play for?
Before making the transition to coaching, Reeves was a Super Bowl winning player.
He claimed success in Super Bowl VI in 1972 as the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Miami Dolphins 24-3 in Louisiana.
Reeves also picked up the Vince Lombardi as assistant coach in 1977 in Super Bowl XII.
That day, the Cowboys would beat the Broncos 27-10 in New Orleans.
Despite possessing a 201-174-2 overall record as a coach in his own right, Reeves could not win the Super Bowl.
He reached the game in 1986, 1987 and 1989 with the Broncos, before switching to the Falcons in 1997 after a spell at the New York Giants.
Ironically in 1998, he made the Super Bowl for the last time against the Denver Broncos…
The Broncos won Super Bowl XXXIII 34-19 IN Florida.
