One of Gabby Petito’s final messages to her mother Nicole Schmidt raised a red flag about her safety among her family.
The 22-year-old blogger was found dead in Briger-Teton National Park in Wyoming after going missing whilst on a cross-country trip with her fiancé Brian Laundrie.
Gabby was laid to rest at a public memorial service in Long Island on September 26th while authorities are still searching for Brian, who’s been named a “person of interest” in the case.
Gabby’s mother recently revealed what the last text from her daughter was.
What was Gabby Petito’s last text to her mom?
The last message that Gabby’s mother, Nicole Schmidt, received from her daughter’s phone was that Gabby didn’t have any phone service in Yosemite National Park, The New York Post reported.
“No service in Yosemite,” the text read which was received on September 30th, a few days before Brian returned to his parents’ home.
However, Nicole told the publication that she didn’t believe the text was sent by her daughter and explained: “I do not believe the text on August 30th was from my daughter. The van was in Florida on the 1st [of September]. I think I can do the math.”
Gabby’s mother said that she got an unusual text from her daughter on August 27th which read: “Can you help Stan, I just keep getting his voicemails and missed calls.”
Nicole said that it referred to Gabby’s grandfather Stan, however, Nicole found the text “odd” as Gabby never called her grandfather by his first name.

‘Stan’ message explored
A number of social media users have pointed out that ‘Stan’ could stand for “Send The Authorities Now.”
Some people believe that Gabby might have wanted to warn her family about her safety.
Meanwhile, as reported by The Sun, internet sleuths speculated whether ‘Stan’ refers to a 2000 song from Eminem. The single gave the name of a slang which refers to fans obsessed about their favourite celebrity.
In the single, Eminem sings about a male partner who kills his pregnant girlfriend.
Social media users found a Pinterest board titled ‘Oh baby’ that Gabby had made prior to going missing which is why some people made the connection to the song, the publication reported.
However, there is no evidence that Gabby was pregnant at the time of her disappearance.
