The 49th Annual American Music Awards is being held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The star-studded event will be hosted by Cardi B. This is the first time the rapper is hosting the show but there is no doubt that she will be bringing exceptional energy to the event.

When will BTS perform at AMAs 2021?
As per People, BTS is part of the opening act for AMA 2021. The outlet notes that the show begins with Olivia Rodrigo, followed by a performance by Bad Bunny before BTS and Coldplay take the stage.
Fans will also get to see Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Chlöe, Diplo, Zoe Wees, New Kids on the Block, New Edition, Tyler, the Creator, and others perform at the event.
What song will BTS perform?
BTS is set to perform ‘Butter’ and ‘My Universe.’ The band will be accompanied by Coldplay for ‘My Universe.’
Unfortunately, Megan Thee Stallion won’t be performing with the band. The rapper had revealed that she won’t be taking part in the event due to personal reasons. She broke the news to her fans on social media.
She said: “Hotties I was so excited to go to the @AMAs and perform with @BTS_official, but due to an unexpected personal matter, I can no longer attend. I’m so sad! I really can’t wait to hit the stage with my guys and perform #BTS_Butter real soon!”

How many categories has the band been nominated for?
BTS has been nominated for three awards including “Favorite Trending Song,” “Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist,” and “Favorite Hip-Hop Album.”
Last year, the band had won two awards. These were: Favorite Duo or Group – Pop/Rock and Favorite Social Artist. While the winners are yet to be announced the band has already been a trending hashtag on Twitter with fans hoping for another win.
