Where is Channel 5’s Intruder filmed?
- Intruder was filmed in Ireland and the majority of the shoot took place across the east coast in north Dublin and north Wicklow.
Though the programme is actually set in a small seaside town in England the filming took place in northern Dublin. Elaine Cassidy who stars in the show said that they were very lucky with the weather which was surprising to the actor who grew up nearby.
“The weather was amazing,” she revealed in an interview. “I mean, this is Ireland. It rains all the time. We were there in October/November so we were really fortunate with the weather.
“There was nothing definitive about the time of year it is [in the script], but I don’t think it was supposed to be the height of summer because we’re wearing coats and stuff. So believe it or not, that was Ireland at its best.”

Thriller series location reveal!
The production had to shoot in a new location when filming in some caves. The plot follows a cave system connected to the Bexville Coast so for these scenes the shoot was moved to Galway in the west of Ireland. The entrance to the caves was filmed on Silver Strand beach, which is very popular amongst people who live near to Dublin.
Although, it seems that the caves were not popular amongst the writing director Gareth Tunley, as co-star Tom Meeten revealed that he was apprehensive about filming the cave scenes.
“Gareth, our director who wrote it, actually has quite bad claustrophobia. So, he was struggling inside the caves which I found quite amusing, this is the sadistic side of me.”
The four-part thriller series premieres on Channel 5 tonight, Monday 5th April, at 9 pm so tune in to spot the Irish coast.
