Where is Sam Ponder off Sunday Countdown today?
According to New York Post’s sports reporter Andrew Marchand, Sam was away from the show today because she had recently interviewed Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury.
Kliff had tested positive for COVID-19 and is therefore also absent from the game. As Sam interviewed him two days ago, she is quarantining to stay safe and therefore wasn’t able to film for the Sunday Countdown.
Who is Sam Ponder?
Sam Ponder is a 35-year-old television host known for appearing as a sportscaster and host for Sunday NFL Countdown on ESPN.
Before this, she hosted ESPN college football and was also a basketball sideline reporter.
She took on the NFL role in March 2017 and was the third person to take on this position in the 32-year history of the Sunday morning NFL pregame show.
Hopefully, Sam is back in her seat on the show next Sunday. Fingers crossed she won’t be away from the show for too long, especially if she doesn’t test positive for COVID-19.
