- “Britney vs Spears” is a documentary covering Britney Spears’ court battle to end her conservatorship.
- The movie will be available to stream on Netflix starting September 28.
- Netflix costs $9 a month for SD quality and $14 a month for HD quality.
“Britney vs Spears” premieres on September 28 exclusively on Netflix. The documentary is scheduled for release one day before the next court hearing related to Britney Spears’ conservatorship.
The conservatorship gives Spears’ father, Jamie, and a lawyer control over some of Spears’ financial and personal assets. In June, Spears requested that the court bring an end to her conservatorship. Fans of Spears who oppose the legal arrangement started the #FreeBritney movement and held protests outside the courthouse during previous hearings.
The documentary, directed by Erin Lee Carr, investigates Britney Spears’ conservatorship and the court case that could end the arrangement. Carr directed a previous documentary for
Netflix
, “How to Fix a Drug Scandal,” in 2020.
Netflix’s “Britney vs Spears” follows another recent documentary, “Framing Britney Spears,” which also focused on the pop star’s legal conflicts. “Framing Britney Spears” premiered on
Hulu
in February.
