Super Bowl takes place in February as the culmination to the 2022 NFL season, but who is doing the halftime show this time around?
It’s one of the most coveted gigs in entertainment and sports: to perform at the halftime show at the Super Bowl.
The biggest names have all done so: Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, and the Black Eyed Peas to name just a few.
In 2022, the Super Bowl will take place on February 13th at the SoFi stadium in California.
But who is doing the halftime show for the 2022 Super Bowl?

2022 Super Bowl halftime show
The expectation is that each halftime show at the Super Bowl will be better than the previous year’s offering.
In 2021, The Weeknd was given the honour, but some felt the performance was lacking a bit of creativity and was not as a good as Shakira and Lopez in 2020.
For 2022 however, the organisers of the Super Bowl halftime show have pulled out some big guns.
The theme will largely be hip-hop, as five artists are lined up to perform.
They are:
- Kendrick Lamar
- Dr. Dre
- Eminem
- Mary J Blige
- Snoop Dogg

Have any of them performed at it before?
The halftime show at the 2022 Super Bowl will be the first time that any of the artists named above will perform at the show as headliners.
Blige appeared as a special guest during Super Bowl XXXV in 2001 in Florida, supporting headline act Aerosmith.
Jay-Z’s Roc Nation will once again be producing the show.
The game – Super Bowl LVI – will be aired on NBC, with it taking place on the second Sunday in February.
It will be the eighth Super Bowl held in the Greater Los Angeles area – and the first since Super Bowl XXVII in 1993.
The Dallas Cowboys beat the Buffalo Bills 52-17 on that day.
