Season 2 of Too Hot to Handle is finally here, and fans can watch the first four episodes of the smoking hot second series on Netflix now.

At the end of the first episode, the contestants, who thought they were on a different show called “Parties in Paradise,” were hit with a shocking twist and were informed that they were, in fact, on “Too Hot to Handle.”

This means that the eager contestants, who thought they were in for a summer of sun and shenanigans, now have to resist breaking certain rules in order to win the $100,000 prize.

Not only is the trusty robot Lana back for season 2 of the show, but well- loved narrator Desiree Burch is back on our screens once more.

Who is the narrator of Too Hot to Handle?

The narrator of Too Hot to Handle is comedian and presenter Desiree Burch.

Producer Louise Peet has explained why Desiree worked so well as a narrator, telling Oprah magazine:

“Her voice was just so perfect for that because she’s warm and non-judgmental, which is key. We are not judging these people. It was key to just be on their side.”

Back in 2015 Desiree won the Funny Women Stage Award and has since appeared on TV shows such as Live at the Apollo (BBC), The Mash Report, Mock the Week, Frankie Boyle’s New World Order (BBC2), Live from the BBC (BBC3), Have I Got News For You, Qi(BBC), and 8 Out of 10 Cats (Channel 4).

You may recognise Desiree’s voice from her appearances on BBC Radio 4 shows The News Quiz, The Now Show, and It’s Not What You Know.

All about Too Hot to Handle narrator Desiree Burch

Before reaching fame as a comedian, Desiree Burch worked as a professional dominatrix in New York. In a 2019 interview, Desiree told Jonathon Ross:

“I got paid to beat guys up like every woman wants. That was a way to make money like many of the amazing women I worked with…they were in school, they were actors, or they were doing other things, they were nurses.”

It was this experience which served as the basis for Desiree’s show “Unf*ckable.” The show is described: “A raw and raucous hour from a virtuoso story teller, Desiree Burch lays out a roadmap for escaping the cycle of silence and self-loathing that comes from always being taken for a ride.”

Desiree is also an Ivy League graduate and has a B.A. in Theater Studies from Yale University. She has worked with companies like Gorilla Rep, Aztec Economy, and NYU’s Experimental Theatre Wing.
