The Verzuz battle between Omarion and Mario that took place on Thursday (June 23) has become the talk of the town for plenty of reasons.
But, fans, as usual, have taken it upon themselves to pick a winner, and the discussion around the same couldn’t get more exciting.
Although the R&B hitmakers headlined tonight’s battle, a pre-show with Ray J, Sammie, Bobby V, and Pleasure P got as much attention following a chaotic start due to an unexpected delay.
Omarion and Mario face off against each other
Tonight’s Verzuz battle between the two singers was announced less than a week ago. It was streamed live from Los Angeles, and those of you who missed it can still watch it on Verzuz’s official YouTube channel.
Despite all the trash talk, the singers put on a highly entertaining show with some of the biggest hits.
While Mario focused on putting his vocals on display, Omarion brought in several guests to make the show more interesting.

Fans pick a winner
For the unversed, Verzuz has never declared a winner since its inception. But, fans have picked one for every battle so far, including the latest one.
And, going by what the majority of them are saying on social media, Mario seems to be the people’s winner in his latest face-off against Omarion.
One fan tweeted: “The most chaotic Verzuz I have watched since Jadakiss. Shoutout to Mario. #DMV Vocals, class, virgo petty, and cute. He definitely won!!”
“Can’t believe anyone thought Omarion even had a CHANCE. Mario won tonight w/ mostly B-side songs. He didn’t even do all his hitters. Y’all forgot this man’s catalogue??? Let O come w/ his best vocals – it’s still not even close!!,” another added.
Another fan said: “Mario has always been the better singer though so not surprising that he won”
“I love Omarion, but Aario won this Verzuz. Case closed,” argued another.
Delay in Verzuz irked users
All in all, the Verzuz battle between the two singers was found to be highly entertaining by the viewers, but the technical glitches and delay in the show really irritated many.
Fans took to Twitter to express their frustration as they waited to witness the showdown. Thankfully, the pre-show by other artists kept them engaged.
“Us common folk have to go to bed. This delay is unnecessary af. #verzuz,” said one.
Another wrote: “Y’all gotta change the time if it’s gone keep being late! Y’all killing us on the east coast!! #Verzuz”
“#Verzuz ended up being so cringe on both sides that I couldnt stomach finishing it. Between the late start, the messy Ray J battle, Omarion’s poor choice to use a live band, Mario flexing vocals over songs we don’t know and the awful sound quality, I shouldve went to bed,” expressed another annoyed user who didn’t like the entire show.
