Wolves are reportedly close to completing the loan signing of Portugal international Renato Sanches, who has previously been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool. The midfielder will be joining a side who have failed to win a Premier League game this season.
Sanches was once considered one of the most promising young players in world football. He made his debut for Benfica aged 16 and was the subject of interest from Manchester United.
He instead chose to join Bayern Munich in 2016 but the move failed to work out. Sanches made just 53 appearances for the Bundesliga side during his three-year spell and had an unsuccessful loan at Swansea City.
The 24-year-old has salvaged his reputation recently, though, helping Lille stun French football by pipping Paris Saint-Germain to the Ligue 1 title last term.
He also starred for Portugal at Euro 2020 and has 30 caps for his country.
Sanches has drawn interest from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool in recent months, with both clubs keen to sign midfielders. The Gunners have instead added Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht, while Reds boss Jurgen Klopp seems keen for 18-year-old star Harvey Elliott to play regular minutes after Gini Wijnaldum was allowed to depart.
TalkSPORT claim that Wolves are now close to agreeing a loan deal for Sanches, who will become the latest Portugal international to join the Midlands club.
