IT’S safe to say our skin probably hasn’t been its best over lockdown, with a lack of sunlight and exercise – not to mention the junk food – taking its toll.
And with most shops shut one woman decided to look online for an acne remedy, after breaking out for the past few weeks.

The beauty fan, called Lauren, decided to whip up a turmeric mask after reading up about its beneficial properties – and realising she had all the ingredients.
But she soon regretted her decision after slathering her face in the mixture, only to realise it had dyed her hands.
Realising her face was probably turning the same shade of yellow, she shared a clip to TikTok documented her hilarious blunder, which has racked up thousands of views.
She said: “For like the last three weeks, I’ve had really bad skin.

“I’ve been breaking out in spots all over my face, but mainly across my lip line.
“And I really don’t want to squeeze them because it’s so so sore.
“So me being me, I’m researching ways to get rid of it and help my skin out.
“And I come across this DIY turmeric face mask that I could literally go downstairs and make right now in my kitchen. So I did.

“It’s got benefits for like acne, wrinkles and skin irritation. So I was like yeah let’s go.”
She showed her hands to the camera, adding: “But the thing is I’ve just applied it to my face and my entire hand has turned yellow.
“When I take this off I’m going to resemble the moon.”
She washes it off her face and then shares the result – adding her sister ‘laughed in disgust’ at her look.

In disbelief, Lauren added: “I’m literally going to the supermarket with my dad tonight. I’m really hoping that make-up’s going to cover this.”
Lauren scrubbed her face some more, adding: “This is the best it’s going to get.”
She later slapped some make-up on and wore a yellow top to ‘distract’ from her face, adding she was ‘kicking herself’ for forgetting turmeric was a dye.
Her blunder racked up thousands of comments online, as people shared tips on how to get rid of the yellow tinge.
One person said: “You really do be glowing.”

While this person added: “I did this a few years ago, took about 4-5 days to fade completely.”
