A woman got so fed up being the “ugly, fat friend” that she vowed to turn her life around – and her transformation is incredible.
Telsah Kaufmann, from Arizona, US, dropped 16 dress sizes after revealing she weighed 136kg (21 stone) when she was 19 years old.
Sharing her weight loss journey on TikTok, she said she used to think that being almost 300lbs “wasn’t really that bad”.
But over time, she realised she was pretending to be happy and confident.
In September 2018, she made a life-changing decision because she “got tired of being ‘just the ugly, fat friend'” and she underwent a vertical sleeve gastrectomy.
The surgery has totally changed her life.
In an Instagram post, she explained how she finds it easier to control her portion sizes and eating habits nowadays.
Over the past three years, the super-slimmer lost 120lbs (8.5 stone) and dropped from a US dress size 16 to size 0.
Telsah also started exercising regularly, which helped her to sculpt an hourglass silhouette and build strong muscles.
In her videos, she shows the before and after difference in appearance – her waist line reduced massively and her facial features became more prominent.

“There are many times I beat myself up mentally, because let me tell you body dysmorphia is an absolute b**** although I kick myself down I strive to push myself day by day and see what I have accomplished and will forever push myself to overcome.”
