Bored of your plain hallway and looking for a way to jazz it up without spending a bomb?
Look no further – this DIY -savvy Brit managed to update her space for just £35.97.
Laine Manley, 48, from Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent, turned her boring hall into a gorgeous shabby chic area using some DIY tricks.
The catering assistant told money-saving community LatestDeals.co.uk : “I saw some posts on social media about painting floor tiles using a stencil, and I decided to go ahead and try it.”

Laine had some leftover Frenchic paint and bought the tile stencils from Dizzy Duck Designs for £29.98 for two.
She explained: “Firstly, I sugar-soaped the floor to prep it for the paint.
“Then, I painted the entire floor with a light grey shade called Greyhound.”
When the base dried she used a beige colour called Cool Beans to add in the design.
Laine said: “It helps to tape down the stencil will Frogtape to keep it in place.
“Once I’d finished the stencilling, I applied six coats of Frenchic Finishing Coat to seal it.”
When the floor was done, Laine decided to create a stylish radiator cover as pre-made ones wouldn’t fit her extra tall pipes.
She used a spare wooden pallet to create the item.
Laine said: “I removed all the slats from one side to make a box frame.
“Once I had a good fit, I rebuilt the outward-facing side by nailing down each slat, allowing enough space between each one to let the heat escape.
“I sanded down the frame and painted it white.
“I also oiled the top ledge to enhance the shabby chic look.”
Finally she used two £5.99 brackets to brace the radiator cover to the wall.
To accessorise the area she added a wooden Matalan decoration, photo frame and oil burner which she already owned.
Laine added: “It was my first time doing anything like this, but I’m very happy with it.”
