Midcoast Family Services is celebrating a milestone in helping people trying to get out of abusive situations.
Victoria, Texas – The Midcoast Family Services women’s shelter opened a little more than ten years ago.
The shelter helps women, men, and children who are victims of abuse.
In celebration of this achievement, Midcoast Family Services held a fundraiser this past Thursday, so it can continue providing services.
“It helps us fill in the gaps that our grants don’t pay for. Things like work shoes for women, or a bus ticket for someone that needs to reunite with their family, or medical bills, those sorts of things. So we were happy to get back and do things in person again, and we can say we had a very successful fundraiser,” said Ginny Stafford, Midcoast Family Services CEO.
Volunteers and donations are always needed and you can shop at one of their thrift stores. the newest one is on Navarro. If you or someone you know needs help call the 24 hour crisis line a (361)573-HELP.
