Family of Clarence Brown receives his military medals at the Field of Honor
Victoria Texas – Bloomington native Clarence Brown saw combat across Central Europe, as well as at Normandy and in Northern France during World War II. Clarence Brown never got his military medals and died in 2001.
The Brown family contacted District 27 Congressman Michael Cloud’s office regarding the long overdue recognition. Monday at high noon family members gathered for a ceremony where Clarence Brown was posthumously awarded his military medals.
Billy Brown was filled with emotion has he accepted his father’s medals.
“We just thank God that we have finally received them 77 years later. But they are now here, and we thank God for that,” said Brown.
Clarence Brown received the World War II victory metal, The European African Middle Eastern Campaign Metal with 4 bronze stars, and the marksman badge.
