IT WAS a sad day for local football fans on Saturday as a legend of the game, Graham Muir (or Yaya Muiry), decided to hang up his boots.
The former Kilbirnie, Winton and Largs midfielder reflected fondly on his career.
He said: “Some highlights were definitely winning three promotions on the final day with Largs, obviously that goal Vs Ashfield and winning the league with Ardrossan.
“The main highlight was the Junior Scottish Cup final with Largs, I’m just gutted we lost! You can’t beat having Louis (his son) there watching.
“The Ladeside support and committee have been unbelievable with me and the send off I got on Saturday was overwhelming.
“I’ve made friends for life and wouldn’t change it for anything.”
